I am very passionate about the impact a beautiful smile can have on someone’s life. The opportunity I have to develop relationships with my patients and see the positive impact of a healthy beautiful smile is very rewarding. A beautiful smile makes them confident to pursue their dreams, and being a part of that process makes me excited to come to the office each day.
Education and Continuing Education
I attended the University of Florida for both my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Doctorate of Dental Medicine degrees. I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the Honors BS/DMD program my freshmen year which allowed my admission into dental school after three years of undergraduate studies. I then attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for my Master of Science in Oral Sciences and Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics.
As a Board Certified Orthodontist by the American Board of Orthodontics, I passed a rigorous set of written and clinical examinations. Only a small percentage of orthodontists have successfully completed this voluntary examination process. Becoming board-certified signifies my pursuit of continued proficiency and excellence in orthodontics. Continuing education is a priority to provide the highest level of orthodontic care and the most up-to-date treatment.
Outside the Office
Originally from Ocala, Dr. Matt now resides in Riverview with his wife Sara, sons Landon and Brady, and daughters Ella and Adeline. Outside of work, Dr. Matt enjoys boating and traveling with his family.
I am very passionate about serving the community, both locally and on a global scale. I was fortunate enough to participate in two mission trips to the Dominican Republic to provide dental care to underserved communities. I am a local Smiles Change Lives provider. This program promotes increased self-esteem and improved oral health for children in need of orthodontic treatment whose families cannot afford the full cost of braces. I am also passionate about supporting our youth in the SouthShore area through the support of our local schools and the YMCA.
