Dr. Mike McIlwain grew up in Tampa along with his four sisters, two brothers, and a lot of animals. He graduated from Berkeley Preparatory School and went on to play soccer at the University of Maryland. He is married to Cristina McIlwain, a graduate of the University of Florida School of Law. They have a growing family, including daughters, Ella and Lucia and their son, Grayson. They also have 2 dogs.
Dr. McIlwain attended dental school and received his pediatric dental training at the University of Florida College of Dentistry in Gainesville. He is a Diplomate and Fellow of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and has extensive training in sedation, general anesthesia and laser procedures.
Dr. McIlwain is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Dental Association, the Hillsborough County Dental Association, the American Orthodontic Society and the Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Mike is also a proud member of the Tampa Bay Cleft and Craniofacial Center.
